Pumpkins, Apples, & Baking

Last week we had a busy week.  We finally cooked up our pumpkins that we had grown in our garden this year and turned them into some delicous pumpkin muffins.  It would have been even better if I had not over cooked the second batch of muffins.  If you are going to use pumpkins for baking you need to use pie pumpkins, they are smaller but are sweeter, meatier, and have less water content.

We also bought some apples and made some apple sauce.  The kids got to eat all the apple peels.  They all love to help in the kitchen.  Jayden even offers to unload and load my dishwasher with out me ever asking.  He even gets things put in the right places.
