Isaiah

I am so excited to be a part of Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) this year.  We are going to be studying the book of Isaiah, which is a brand new study for BSF.  Today was our first meeting, and lecture, I feel like I have already learned so much.

Isaiah means “The Lord is salvation”.  Isaiah’s message as a prophet was one of warning, comfort, and deliverance.  During Isaiah’s ministry to the people of Judah, the morals of the people were dissolving, formal worship continued throughout the land, but the heart behind it was not right.  Economically Judah had experienced great wealth and prosperity, but was on the verge of collapse.  It sounds so much like what I see in the world today, that it excites me to see what the message God sent to them.

I am praying for a heart that is open to what God wants to speak to me through this study.  To reveal to me through His word who He is, His purpose in my life, and His work around me.  I believe what we believe about God comes out in what we think about ourselves and those around us.  I want to have the right spirit to those around me, and I know I don’t always have it.
